Reading After School

The boys know that their free time after school is from when they get off the bus until i get home from work. That is when they have their after school snack and than just do whatever they want. Once i get home from work than we dive into homework. for ryan that means we start with his 30 minutes of reading everyday. We read together so i make sure he reads and help him along the way. He used to get all his numbers and letters all backwards and upside down. It's been a long and painful journey but we have been working on this everyday for YEARS and he has improved in leaps and bounds! He didn't want to be in todays after school picture to The Dude in Cammies, so he hid behind his book. We are reading the sequel to A Boy No More that we finished reading about a week ago. This book will be the last one he reads for 7th grade and he will use this book for his project for the Literacy Fair.

Sleeves Up

Not often we get good news coming down from the Commandant of the Marine Corps these days, but we sure did today! "Sleeves Up" he says, when they switch to their summer uniforms in March! Soooo excited!!! I have missed seeing our Marines with their sleeves rolled! I have missed the Sunday evening grumbles with The Dude in Cammies as we would get his cammies ready for the week, him rolling and often re-rolling and putting them on and having me check to see if they are even. And than the hilarious taking off of the cammies because the sleeves are rolled sooooo tight that he required my help in pulling them off as his arms would begin to go numb! I s'pose he will be having fun (not!!!) doing this in less than 11 days without me helping me! I will Facetime him if he wants while he rolls his sleeves in the next week.....

Sick Vix

Vicki was starting to feel icky last night. She woke up this morning feeling horrible!!!! After work I took her to our doctor and sure enough she has strep throat. So, she has her antibiotics and hopefully she will be feeling better soon!!!!

Looking Like Boys Again!

Took the girls in for haircuts tonight and turns out i DO have BOYS after all!!!

Snow to 79* in One Week

This brings a giant smile to my face!!!! 79* outside right now!!! It is Wednesday in February and 79*! I have my sunroof open driving home! Last Wednesday we were snowed in! This is just crazy a week later, but I love it!!!

Today....

We all had a 2 hour delay for school today due to the cold weather! It was wonderful!!! Sleeping in.....no gate traffic....took doughnuts in for my friends at work.....hot chocolate....work went by sooo fast!!!! It was a great day!!!

A chocolate chip pumpkin muffin tastes sooo much better with a mint chocolate chip cookie on top says Ryan!!!!

Trying to keep Bella warm by putting on one of her cute sweaters with a hood and she just glares at me.....but she sure looks cute giving me the stare down!!!
