The Dude in Baseball Pants

The Dude in Cammies seems to be wearing more than cammies these these days!!! today he wears a Marine baseball jersey and plays ball! He loves baseball so he is VERY happy today. His team won, so he is extra happy!

Lions, Tigers, & Wait A Minute....

We went to Barefoot Landing today.  I took the kids last year when The Dude in Cammies was in Afghanistan, so this year Vicki and I took him to see the tiger cubs. We were totally surprised to find that they had LIGERS there today!!! I remember wondering if ligers were really real when the Napoleon Dynamite movie came out when we were stationed on Okinawa. Ty wrote a poem about them and confirmed to me that they were in fact real not too long after seeing the movie. Today we got to hold 2 of them! Vicki is holding a one month old liger that doesn't have any teeth yet, but VERY sharp claws, that is why she is holding that cute little fur ball sooooo far away from her!!! I would have had her cuddled up under my chin not caring about her lil daggers!!! I'm holding the 3 month old liger cub that had LOTS of teeth and who happened to be VERY hungry at the moment and VERY content with his bottle!!! He was HEAVY! His fur was sooooo soft!!! I just wanted to cuddle up with him!!! Ed has my new boyfriend. It was love at first sight.....the next post will explain......but it was definitely totally fun interacting with these sweet animals before we posed for this picture with them! Wish we lived closer, i would totally volunteer to work at this place and help care for these animals!!!

Meet Chue

This is Chue, The Dude in Cammies practice horse for now.  A chunk of the horses are gone right now on color guard in Texas and than heading to New Orleans before coming back to base, so The Dude in Cammies is practicing with the Trainer on Chue. Chue reminds him of Jasper. I think he looks like Jasper too, even his eyes!  They did some fast riding today and when Ed came back the Trainer told him to get off the horse. Ed asked why.  The Trainer told him he had done perfect and to get off before something went wrong.  So, he got off and took Chue into the stables to brush him and do the rest of the things he does after he finishes up with his daily training.  He really likes being out at the stables and working with the horses......i think i would like to be doing that too.....  

Sleeves Up

Not often we get good news coming down from the Commandant of the Marine Corps these days, but we sure did today! "Sleeves Up" he says, when they switch to their summer uniforms in March! Soooo excited!!! I have missed seeing our Marines with their sleeves rolled! I have missed the Sunday evening grumbles with The Dude in Cammies as we would get his cammies ready for the week, him rolling and often re-rolling and putting them on and having me check to see if they are even. And than the hilarious taking off of the cammies because the sleeves are rolled sooooo tight that he required my help in pulling them off as his arms would begin to go numb! I s'pose he will be having fun (not!!!) doing this in less than 11 days without me helping me! I will Facetime him if he wants while he rolls his sleeves in the next week.....

She Takes My Seat!

Ed and Vicki drive me to work every day. They drop me off at 7 am and than do whatever Ed has to do for work stuff and than they kill themselves at the gym, do lunch and than come get me at 2:45. What cracks me up is as soon as i get out of the front seat Vixs crawls out of the backseat and takes my seat. I think that is hilarious how she doesn't just stay in her seat in the back.

Vicki & Dad Out

While i am at work i get these random pictures of Vicki and Ed. Today they were out and about while the jeep was getting serviced and ready for its long drive across America! They were at Good Year, Home Depot, and IDK where they went for lunch....but they are a hoot! I guess ed was tired. I got a text from Vix that her Dad had fallen asleep on her shoulder. I hope these two don't kill each other driving across America!!! i get random texts from both of them on how each of them are driving each other crazy just while they are out and about!
